My garage floor in Amarillo went from cracked mess to clean slab in one weekend
Pulled up 20 years of old sealer and concrete patch last Saturday and found the cracks were way worse than I thought once the top layer came off. Rented a grinder from the shop on Georgia Street and used a self leveling filler, took about 6 hours total. Has anyone here dealt with hairline cracks coming back after patching, or does the primer actually hold them off?
Six hours total sounds about right until you hit that one spot where the filler just keeps disappearing into a crack that goes to China. And yeah, the primer is more of a hope and a prayer than a real fix in my experience. Once that slab moves with the seasons, those hairline cracks are coming back whether you like it or not. Your mileage may vary but I've never seen primer actually stop them.
