My kitchen faucet handle just snapped off in my hand yesterday
I was trying to turn on the cold water to fill the dog bowl and the plastic handle just broke clean off. It's a Moen faucet we got from the Lowe's over on Georgia Street maybe five years ago. I had to shut the water off under the sink with a pair of pliers because the valve was stuck. I mean, I guess I always knew those plastic parts were a weak spot, but you don't think about it until you're holding a broken piece. Has anyone in Amarillo had good luck with a local plumbing supply place for a replacement cartridge and handle? I'd rather not drive all over town.

Check if that Moen has a lifetime warranty. I called them once for a different part and they just mailed it to me for free.

Totally second that warranty advice. I had a kitchen faucet cartridge go bad and they just asked for my address, no proof of purchase or anything. Their customer service is seriously painless like that.

My plumber told me they keep that policy because it builds brand loyalty that lasts decades. It costs them very little to mail out a small part, but it guarantees the next time someone needs a new faucet, they remember that easy fix. That kind of long term thinking is rare now. It turns a broken piece into a free advertisement for them.
