My neighbor and I both painted our fences with different sealers and mine is holding up way better after that big dust storm.

I used a solid-color stain from the place on Bell Street and he used a clear coat, and after the storm last month, his looks chalky while mine just needs a quick hose down.

Solid-color stain seems like the way to go. That's a bummer for your neighbor.

Yeah, solid-color stain is a big commitment. I mean, @the_tessa, once you go that route you're pretty much stuck with it forever, right? It's not like a semi-transparent where you could maybe sand it off later. Makes me wonder what the neighbor's long-term plan even was, like did they just not know?
