My neighbor in Wolflin says you should always hire a pro for foundation work, but I'm not so sure.

Last spring, I noticed a crack in my basement wall on 15th Street and panicked. A contractor quoted me $8,500 to fix it, but my brother-in-law, who's handy, said we could probably handle the epoxy injection ourselves for a few hundred bucks. Honestly, I'm torn between saving a ton of money and the risk of making it worse. Has anyone in Amarillo actually done their own foundation repair and had it hold up?

My uncle in Canyon tried epoxy himself and it failed in a year.

Yeah, that story from @leo_black76 about his uncle in Canyon is exactly what worries me. It makes me wonder if the crack you saw was just a hairline one or something wider that really needs more than just a patch job. Did you check if it's still growing or if water is getting in?

Ever notice how people always try the cheap fix first? Is that crack in a spot where water could pool after it rains?
