That neighbor lady convinced me to try spray foam insulation

Last month I watched her seal up her garage attic in about 3 hours with a DIY kit from Home Depot, cost her like $400 total. I'd been on the fence about it for years, but seeing how fast it went and how tight the seal was made me grab a kit for my own place the next weekend - has anyone else had good luck with the spray foam kits in this Amarillo heat?

My neighbor did hers two summers ago and it's still holding up fine, no brittleness or shrinking that I can see. @keith_bennett I get the skepticism but those DIY kits have come a long way, especially the froth-pak stuff from Home Depot. The key is getting the temperature right when you spray it, you gotta follow the instructions to the letter. I've seen people mess it up by spraying on a super hot day and it doesn't cure right, so timing matters a lot. Overall I'd say it's worth it if you prep the space and don't rush it.

Honestly, I gotta say I'm a little skeptical about how serious the payoff really is. Ngl, I've heard mixed things about those DIY spray foam kits in this heat, like they don't always expand right or they can get brittle after a few summers. Tbh, that neighbor might have made it look easy, but a garage attic isn't the same as a full house, and $400 is still a chunk of change for something that might not hold up. I'd be side-eyeing the long term, especially with our temperature swings here. Not trying to rain on your parade, but I'd want to see proof it's holding tight after two or three years before I'd call it a win.

Idk, I was skeptical too until I saw how tight the seal actually was, totally changed my mind.
