Tried to fix a squeaky floor with baby powder and now my whole kitchen smells like a diaper
Spent last Saturday on my hands and knees in the Amarillo heat sprinkling powder into every creaky plank gap near the pantry. It fixed the sound for about 2 days but the second the AC kicked on it blew that smell everywhere, my wife thought we had a plumbing leak. Anyone else have a weird fix that backfired worse than the original problem?
Whole kitchen smells like a diaper" is now my new favorite excuse for why dinner tastes weird, so thanks for that mental image. I tried fixing a rattling dryer with duct tape once, ended up with a sock fused to the heating coil and a smoke detector that won't shut up. Baby powder for squeaks is like using glitter for a oil leak, sure it covers the obvious but now everyone knows something's off. At least your floors are quiet though, mine still creak AND smell like a cheap motel.
