Two weekends on a simple sprinkler valve, shoulda just called a pro
Bought a house off I-40 near Coulter and the front lawn sprinkler head was shooting a geyser. Figured it was a $20 valve swap, easy peasy. Took me all Saturday to dig down, only to find the manifold was some oddball 3/4 inch thread nobody stocks locally. Drove to three spots, ended up ordering online. Second Saturday I put it all together, turned on the water, and the next head started leaking. Fixed that, then the timer box was throwing an error code. By Sunday night I was covered in mud and had sunk about $90 in parts. Next time I'm paying the $150 service call and watching from the porch. Anyone else get railroaded by an 'easy' irrigation fix?

Forget the valve, check your pressure regulator first.
