Vent: My neighbor and I both replaced our garage door springs last month.
He went with the cheapest kit from a big box store, I paid a bit more for a specific brand from a local supplier on Western. His snapped again after two weeks, mine is still fine. Anyone have a reliable local source for other parts like that?

Saw a post on Nextdoor saying those cheap kits can be a real gamble. Makes you wonder how much that extra bit for a good brand saves you in the long run.

Totally get that. Learned the hard way with a cheap furniture kit last year. Spent three hours building a wobbly bookshelf that looked sad. Ended up buying the solid one anyway, so I paid twice. Sometimes the bargain is just a bill you get later.
