Vent: my water heater quit the night before my in-laws showed up, and a $14 part saved the weekend
It died last Saturday around 9pm, right after my wife's parents drove in from Lubbock. I almost called an emergency plumber who wanted $280 just to come out, but my neighbor Dale said to check the thermocouple first. Turns out the thing had backed itself loose, and swapping it at Ace on Georgia took me 20 minutes and one wrench. Has anyone else had one of these go bad on a holiday weekend, or is it just my house?
