I finally caught myself doing the exact thing I always complain about with AI art

I was at a coffee shop in Ann Arbor last Saturday, and this guy next to me was bragging about his 'original' character designs. I looked over and they were clearly Midjourney renders, like zero changes. I rolled my eyes so hard. Then I got home and realized my last three commission posts were literally just AI outputs I'd run through a filter. My friend pointed out the hands were still wrong in one of them and I felt like such a hypocrite. Has anyone else had that moment where you catch yourself doing the same thing you hate?

Wait you seriously didn't notice the hands for three whole commissions?

Honestly I think people just nitpick hands way too much these days. Unless the fingers are literally backwards or something I usually don't even notice until someone points it out. Like if the rest of the commission is solid who cares if a thumb looks a little off. Probably just got caught up in the other details and didn't think much of it.

Eh, is it really that deep though... Like yeah hands can be tricky but people act like a slightly weird thumb ruins the whole piece. Saw someone once rant about a pinky being too straight and I'm just sitting here wondering who stares that long at a hand in a picture. Artists are human, they slip up sometimes... doesn't mean they're bad at their job or scamming anyone.
