Just realized I was feeding Midjourney my own photo references when I should have been using them as style guides the whole time

After six months of fighting with AI to get lighting and composition right, a friend looked at my workflow and said "you're basically telling the AI to copy your work instead of inspiring it," and now I'm wondering how many of those 200 rejected images could have been saved if I'd treated my photos like mood boards instead of blueprints, has anyone else had that awkward moment where the obvious click you missed feels like a punch in the gut?

The bruise on my forehead from facepalming so hard is still healing tbh. 200 images of just staring at the screen wondering why it hated me.

200 images of confusion and despair, sounds like a real bonding experience with your laptop. Did it at least buy you dinner first before rejecting you like that?

The real question nobody's asking is why @king.val didn't just use a recovery tool after the first 50 images failed, seems like digital masochism at that point.
