Just realized my $8 sketchbook beats every AI art app I tried on my phone
Last Saturday I was sitting at a coffee shop in Boise with my $8 sketchbook and a 2B pencil, and I pulled out my phone to mess with one of those AI art apps everyone keeps talking about. I typed in "cat sitting on a windowsill in the rain" and it gave me this weird glossy thing with six toes on the cat and raindrops that looked like melted glue. So I drew the same cat myself, badly, and honestly my lopsided version had more feeling in it. The app took 40 seconds and my drawing took about 20 minutes, but I actually remembered making mine the next day. With the app I could not even tell you what the picture looked like, it just slid right out of my brain. My buddy keeps saying the AI stuff is faster so it is better, but faster at what exactly? If I want a picture of something in my head, the pencil wins every time. Has anyone else noticed that the stuff you make yourself sticks with you way longer than anything the app spits out?
