My AI portrait generator hit 10,000 user prompts last month, which feels like a lot for something that doesn't 'create' anything.
On one hand, it's just a tool that remixes existing art, but on the other, the sheer volume of unique images it produces from those prompts makes me question what 'creative' really means now.

Ten thousand prompts is wild for a tool that's basically a high-tech collage maker. It's like we've outsourced daydreaming to a machine that just mashes pictures together. Maybe creativity now is just being really good at giving the AI instructions. We went from making art to writing really detailed grocery lists for a robot.

Ever tried to get a toddler to draw exactly what you're picturing? It's the same vibe.

Saw this article the other day about how people are treating AI art like a conversation instead of just typing commands. It kinda made me realize @gavin365 has a point about us being directors now. The whole thing about moving creativity from hands to ideas really hits different when you think about it. 10k prompts is a lot of back and forth trying to get the machine to see what you see. Feels like the skill is leaning more into having a clear vision and being able to talk it out.

Isn't it weird how something that feels like a remix tool can still make you stop and wonder? I mean, hitting 10k prompts shows people are clearly trying to make something new, even if the machine is doing the stitching. It makes me feel like the creative part got moved, from the hand to the idea in your head. Maybe we're all just directors now, and that's a real skill too, even if it feels strange.
