My first AI-assisted short story got 14 rejections, then one yes

I used to write every draft by hand, no AI help at all. Took me about 6 weeks per story and I'd get so stuck on descriptions that I'd quit halfway. Last month I tried using an AI generator just to brainstorm scene ideas and alternate dialogue options. It felt like cheating at first, but I set hard rules for myself. The AI could suggest, but I rewrote every sentence in my own voice. My latest sci-fi piece got accepted by a small zine called Orbital Press after 15 tries total. Now I'm wondering how much AI is too much before it stops being my work. Does anyone else draw that line at brainstorming only, or do you let it write full paragraphs too?
