Overheard a guy at the comic shop say AI art saved his small D&D campaign

He was printing out character portraits for his players which got me thinking about how when I started DMing in 2017 I had to spend 3 hours on Google Images finding anything close to a half-orc bard with a lute, so maybe there is some middle ground here where it helps real people even if it spooks the pro artists.

Once printed a rogue that looked like a thumb wearing a cloak, AI would have been a massive upgrade.

@smith.parker What was the design like, just a thumb with a little hood on it? Did you at least try to salvage it by adding some details or did it end up in the trash?

Makes me think of how people try to fix broken 3D prints but end up with something that just looks worse. @smith.parker probably gave it a good try before tossing it. That's the real issue with relying on AI for designs, you get something that looks okay on screen but falls apart in the real world.
