Spent 2 years making AI art with the wrong prompt settings lol
I was using Midjourney for like 2 years and always wondered why my images looked kinda weird and soft. Then last month I watched a random youtube tutorial and the guy was like 'oh yeah make sure you're not using the default style setting' and I realized I had been on the 'artistic' preset the entire time. Every single image I made was basically watercolor blurry. I thought that's just how AI art looked. My friend saw my stuff and said it looked like dream sequences. I felt so dumb. Anyone else do something like this for way too long?

Isn't it funny how we can go years assuming something's normal, only to find out we missed something obvious that changes everything? I see this all the time at work with people using software wrong because nobody ever showed them the basic settings. It's like how I used to think my phone's battery was just bad, until someone told me I had a bunch of apps running in the background the whole time.

Tbh that battery thing hits close to home. I had the same issue until I just started closing apps manually every night and it made a huge difference.

Didn't really think that could happen with AI art cause I figured the defaults would be fine. But now I'm second guessing all the images I've made over the past year honestly. You just convinced me to double check my settings when I hop on later.
