Spent $200 on AI art tools and got nothing but generic junk back

I dropped $200 on a yearly subscription to some popular AI art generator back in January... thought it would help me mock up design ideas for client remodels faster. Instead I got the same 5 overly smooth landscapes and weird hands every time, nothing that looked like my actual project. Meanwhile I see people online making amazing stuff with free tools and it makes me wonder if I just picked a bad one or if paid AI art is mostly a ripoff. Has anyone else thrown money at a specific AI art service and regretted it, or is there one out there that's actually worth the cash?

Man I burned $180 on a service called Artflow last spring and got nothing but blurry cartoon monsters. The free stuff online does the same job with way less frustration. You definitely weren't alone in feeling ripped off there.

Same boat here, dropped $150 on Midjourney and got back the same generic fantasy landscapes and messed up hands. Free options like Stable Diffusion actually give me way more control for zero cost.
