Stumbled into an AI art exhibit at a local coffee shop and it felt off

Last weekend I was grabbing coffee at a place in Portland called Common Grounds. They had a small gallery space in the back and the new show was all AI generated art. Big prints on the walls, landscapes and portraits. At first I thought they looked nice, clean and perfect. But after a minute they all felt empty. Like there was no story behind any of them. Just pretty pictures with nothing to say. It made me wonder if creativity needs some kind of human mess or flaw to feel real. Has anyone else seen AI art in person and felt something was missing?

Huh, did the artist even claim any authorship of the images or just print them?

I've seen folks just run photos through a filter and call it a day, so I usually ask them straight up what part they actually made. If they can't point to any editing or choice they made, it's just a printout to me.

@jamesf29 I've been following this whole thing and the weirdest part to me is that nobody's talking about how the "artist" didn't even try to hide the fact they were using an AI filter. Like, if you're gonna claim something, at least put in a little effort lol.
