That friend who said AI art isn't real art because it's too easy
My buddy Mark kept telling me back in March that AI art would never be seen as creative since you just type a few words and get a picture. I kinda agreed with him at first, but then I spent like 4 hours tweaking prompts and making composites to get one decent image for a client project. Now I'm thinking maybe the creativity is more about the editing and vision than the tool itself. Has anyone else found themselves spending way more time than expected to get AI art to look right?

Honestly, it's not quite as simple as just typing a few words though. Getting something that actually looks right takes a ton of trial and error, a lot more than people think.

You're right @claire_grant34, I spent three hours this week getting lighting right on a simple portrait.

Even with AI tools now, people forget that lighting is half the battle in any photo. Nobody talks about how the camera sensor reads light differently than our eyes, so what looks good in person can look totally flat on screen. That three hours probably saved you from having to trash the whole thing in post later though. It's wild how much time we spend fixing stuff that could've been caught with better setup in the first place.
