Hit 1,000 AI generated images this week and it got weird
I was messing with Stable Diffusion for a side project and noticed my counter hit exactly 1,000. That's a thousand fake photos of stuff that never existed. It made me think about all the training data those models ate through to get there. Has anyone else hit a random number like this and felt off about it?

So what exactly was the tipping point where it stopped feeling like a creative tool and started feeling like you were just churning out data ghosts? Was it a specific image that broke through the weirdness or just the sheer weight of that number hitting your brain? Because I'm sitting at 800 myself and wondering when that switch flips.

My buddy hit 500 generations on some anime model and said he started feeling like he was just making ghosts. Said he couldn't look at any of them the same way after that.

500 in and I'm just making digital tumbleweeds at this point.

Read somewhere that after a certain number of generations your brain stops seeing unique creations and just sees variations on a theme. It's like the magic wears off and you're left staring at echoes of the same few ideas. That number 500 seems to be the wall for a lot of people.
