I found a report showing AI training used over 1.3 million gallons of water in one data center

I read a study from the University of California last month that said a single data center training a large AI model can use that much water for cooling, which made me rethink how 'clean' this tech really is, so has anyone else seen stats on the environmental costs?

What about the water used to make the chips for those servers?

Yeah, I never really thought about the water part before. Seeing that number made it feel a lot more real and not so green. It's a hidden cost that doesn't get talked about enough.

Actually, that water was just for cooling during training, not making the chips.
