I let an AI write my resume and got 0 callbacks in 3 weeks

I figured it was time to update my resume for a new job, so I fed my old one into ChatGPT and asked it to spruce things up. The AI added all these buzzwords like "synergistic leadership" and "optimized workflows" that I would never actually say. I sent out 12 applications over 3 weeks and didn't get a single call or email back. I went back to my original plain resume and got 2 interviews in the first week. Now I think these AI tools sound fake and hiring managers can smell it from a mile away. Has anyone else noticed that AI-written stuff just doesn't land the same?

Wait, did the AI actually write "synergistic leadership"? That's like the biggest red flag possible. I mean, no real human talks like that unless they're trying to sound important. Idk, maybe it's just me but I think hiring managers have seen so many of those AI resumes that they can spot them instantly. It probably reads like you copy pasted from a 2015 LinkedIn influencer post. Makes the whole thing feel fake and untrustworthy.

A buddy of mine had an interview where the manager literally said "this feels like a robot wrote it" and he didn't get the job, jakewhite you might be on to something.

Dunno man, I think it depends how much you edit what the AI spits out lol.
