Just realized AI ethics felt like a hobby debate before it got real
We used to toss around ideas like they were just fun brain games. Now, I read about self-driving car crashes and feel sick thinking how we rushed into this.
After seeing that crash, I finally get why @lucasw57 had to step back. I was all in on self-driving cars, but the reality check hit hard. Now I'm not so sure about the whole thing.
Seriously, that crash got to me too. I saw the video and my blood ran cold. It's easy to talk about stats until you see metal twisted around a bus bench. I live over in Portland and it suddenly felt way too close. Now every time I hear that self-driving hum I tense up. It went from future news to a real problem overnight.
