My city's new AI hiring tool flagged my resume as a fake

I applied for a job in Phoenix and got an automated rejection saying my work history didn't match public records. It turned out the system couldn't verify my two years at a small startup that closed in 2020. This made me realize how flawed automated gatekeeping can be for real people. What other AI systems are making these kinds of life-altering mistakes without a human check?

Phoenix just rejected you for working at a real company, that's next-level stupid.

Man, that's wild. It feels like some places care more about where you've been than what you can actually do. Like checking a box is more important than getting stuff done.

Yeah I saw some article saying companies are hiring ghosts instead of real people now, it's ridiculous.

It's the same with a lot of stuff. My apartment complex needs three forms of ID just to get a package, but the actual building door has been broken for months. The process matters more than the result.
