My cousin gave me bad advice about AI art tools, cost me a client
My cousin runs a small design shop in Austin and told me to lean hard on AI image generators for a pitch deck last month. He said clients can't tell the difference anymore, which sounded great until the client noticed the hands were all weird in the product mockups. I lost the gig to a rival agency that used a real illustrator. Has anyone else gotten burned by trusting someone's AI shortcut tip too fast?

Nodded along reading this because I got burned the exact same way. A buddy of mine swore up and down that AI could do product shots for our website refresh, so I let it handle the hero images. The lighting was all wrong and one of the "boxes" had a lid that was just floating in midair. Had to pay a photographer double to reshoot everything last minute, and the client still mentioned it in the review. Now I only use those tools for rough drafts to sketch out ideas, never for the final stuff.
