My town's new traffic system crashed for two hours yesterday morning.
It's run by an AI that was supposed to learn our patterns. Gridlock was insane, people missed work. Who's responsible when a city's AI just fails like that?

Yikes, my GPS once tried to send me into a lake, so I feel you. Maybe we're all just doomed.

Oh man, that's brutal. We had a similar thing happen with the smart traffic lights by the mall last year, total chaos for like an hour. It's wild that they just hand over control to some AI with no real backup plan. The city should absolutely be on the hook for the mess, they're the ones who bought the broken system lol. Makes you miss the old dumb lights that just turned red and green on a timer.

Hold up, you're missing the point. Those old timer lights caused so much pointless waiting when no cars were coming. The AI system learns from mistakes, so that mall chaos last year probably taught it how to handle a big crowd better now. Even @the_olivia's lake GPS thing is just bad map data, not the tech itself. Cities have to try new stuff or we'd be stuck in traffic forever.
