Picked an AI resume screener over a human reviewer for my hiring in Austin last month

I had to choose between using this new AI tool that scans resumes for keywords or paying my buddy $500 to go through 200 applications manually. I went with the AI because it was faster and cheaper. It flagged a candidate that my buddy would have skipped because their resume had a weird format. That person ended up being the best hire I made all quarter. Has anyone else had an AI tool surprise them like that?
