I got flagged by a new AI loan approval tool last year for a 'high risk' label. The reason? It linked my online activity to a person with a similar name who had bad debt. Proving I wasn't that guy took almost 8 months of back and forth with their support team and sending in paper records. It made me miss the simpler, slower human checks, even with their flaws. Who else has had to fight a decision made by an algorithm that got basic facts wrong?
