Saw a self-driving taxi run a stop sign at 3am downtown last night

Was walking home and watched a Waymo roll right through a full stop at 4th and Main, no hesitation. Is this just a glitch or should we be worried about them operating without human oversight in empty streets?

Yeah report it to the city. I've had to do that twice already. They won't fix it if nobody tells them.

Yeah I told them about a pothole three times before my car learned to avoid it on its own.

Look, I'll admit I used to be one of those people who figured empty streets at 3am were the perfect testing ground for these things. But then my buddy sent me a dashcam clip of his Tesla nearly plowing into a pedestrian who had the walk signal at a totally empty intersection downtown. The car just didn't register the guy until the last second. Sure, glitches happen, but when the whole point is operating without human backup in quiet hours, those glitches are the whole ballgame. It's the midnight runs that scare me more than rush hour now.
