Switched from blocking all AI scrapers to letting them through after a month
I used to block every bot I could with robots.txt, but then a small dev asked if they could use my blog posts to train their local model and I said yes. Now I realize I was just mad at big corporations, not the tech itself. Has anyone else had a change of heart about who gets to use your content?

Three weeks in, I caught my own blog feeding a fanfic generator and honestly I was more flattered than mad. I mean, if someone's AI can make my rambling about cats into mildly entertaining nonsense, that's kind of a win. So yeah, maybe my moral high ground was just a fancy name for "don't touch my stuff unless I say please.

Wait wait wait, your own blog was feeding an AI generator? That's wild, I thought you had to opt into those things or at least get a ping. So you're basically saying all of us might have our old posts getting scrambled into weird fanfic without knowing? Honestly I respect the chill reaction but that would lowkey freak me out.
