That AI customer service bot cost me a $500 job last week
I used to call real people for supplier orders every time. Then I switched to this AI chatbot interface they rolled out 2 months ago. It kept mixing up my product codes and I ended up with the wrong flooring delivered to a client's house in Phoenix. Had to eat the cost of a rush reorder. Anyone else getting burned by companies forcing AI on us without proper testing?

$500 down the drain because their bot couldn't read a simple product code.

Just a small thing, but it sounds like the bot might have been pulling from the wrong inventory system rather than misreading your codes. I mean, I've seen that happen with these systems when they're not synced up properly with the actual warehouse data. Maybe checking what product database the bot was accessing could be worth a look before you totally write it off.

Did you ask them if they even tested the bot with real product codes before rolling it out? That's the part that gets me... companies push this stuff live without running it through actual customer workflows first. I work with supply chain data and I've seen these bots misread serial numbers and SKUs constantly because the training data is too clean, not real world messy. The worst part is they save $2 on a call center but cost us $500 in mistakes, and there's nobody to escalate to when the bot screws up.
