Call me crazy, but my home AI cut our power bill by 20%

Many people say home automation AI is just a toy, but my simple learning system for the thermostat really helped. We now have lower costs every month.

Our water heater was on a stupid schedule for years. It's funny how many small, dumb drains you only notice once something starts fixing them.

Heard about a friend's fridge... running non-stop until they replaced the seal.

Classic @sean51. Hindsight is 20/20. That "small, dumb drains" line from quinn is exactly it. You live with the noise or the high bill for so long it just becomes background. Then you fix one cheap thing and feel like a genius. My old car had a similar vibe with a loose heat shield. Rattled for months. A five cent washer fixed it. Makes you wonder what else you're just used to.

Spot a weird draft by the back door for two winters. Just lived with it, wore a sweater. Turns out the weather stripping was totally gone. A ten dollar roll from the hardware store and now the whole room is warmer. It's wild how you can just adapt to stuff that's slowly bleeding money or comfort. My buddy had a toilet that ran constantly, a new flapper valve fixed it in minutes. You get so used to the background hum of things being broken.
