I was paying $30 a month for an AI transcription app until my sister asked why I wasn't just using my phone
Last week my sister watched me upload a 45 minute interview to this transcription service I've been paying $30 a month for since January. She grabbed my phone, opened the voice memos app, and hit record on a test clip. The built in one did the whole thing in about 20 seconds, labeled the speakers, and it was free the entire time. I just assumed the phone version was garbage because the one on my old Android from 2018 was, so I never even tried it. Now I'm wondering what else I'm paying for that my phone already does, what's the dumbest subscription you've caught yourself keeping for no reason?
