Overheard a cashier talking about AI, now I get the hype
I was at the grocery checkout in Austin yesterday and this teen cashier was saying how an AI app helps him write replies to his landlord's maintenance emails, and it hit me that the real win isn't automation, it's giving people confidence to handle stuff they'd normally avoid. He said he used to just ignore leaks and broken AC for weeks, but now he sends a clear note in 5 minutes with photos attached. Has anyone else noticed AI making people more willing to tackle small adult responsibilities they used to put off?
