Question about a voice clone tool that went wrong

Used a new AI voice clone for a video last week. It was supposed to sound like me. The audio came out with a weird robotic lisp. Had to re-record the whole three minute script myself. Anyone know a more reliable tool for this?

Oh man, that sounds rough. I saw a tech review last month where the guy had the same issue, the clone kept adding this weird wet mouth sound on all the S's. He tried a bunch and said the free ones were almost all bad for that. He ended up using ElevenLabs in the end and said it was way cleaner, no metallic lisp. Might be worth a look if you're still trying to find something that works.

Totally get the frustration. I used to think all those voice tools were basically the same, just pick any free one. Then I tried making a short intro for a friend's podcast and it sounded like a robot with a sinus infection. Claire's right about ElevenLabs, that's what fixed it for me. The difference in quality is actually insane, no weird robot mouth sounds. It just sounds like a person.

But you're paying for a problem free tools should fix for free.
