Saw a huge jump in chatbot responses after I changed one setting
I run a small moving company and started using an AI chatbot on my website about 4 months ago to answer customer questions. For the first 2 months, it was giving out wrong info on pricing and availability almost half the time. Last month I tweaked the knowledge base to include my actual rate sheet and schedule, and now it handles over 80% of inquiries without me stepping in. Has anyone else fixed a bad AI tool just by feeding it better source material?

How did you structure the knowledge base file? I'm curious.

@calebc40 Actually the structure depends a lot on what you're using it for. I keep mine split into raw notes and formatted sections. Raw notes are just bullet points from my research. Formatted sections have headers and short summaries. That way I can search fast when I need something specific.
One thing that tripped me up at first was trying to make everything perfect before I started. Just dump the info in there and clean it up later. My file has maybe 30 different headings for things like "plot holes" and "character backstory" and "weird tech rules." Works way better than one giant wall of text.
