Three years ago I laughed at voice assistants, now I can't go back

Last week my phone routed me around a crash before I even saw it on the map. Then last month I asked the assistant to reorder cat food and it just did it. Three years ago I told my buddy in Austin that these things were just toys, remember arguing about it over lunch. Now I use voice notes for half my grocery list and I'm not sure when that switch happened. Anyone else notice a specific moment where you stopped treating them like a gimmick?
