Just realized the free AI checklist my old HVAC boss gave me in 2019 is now doing half my quoting
Back in 2019 my boss at a shop in Tulsa handed me a laminated sheet he called the "10 questions before you bid" list, and I thought it was just old guy stuff. Last week I typed those same 10 questions into a free AI tool and it built me an estimate template that cut my quoting time from about 90 minutes down to 25. I ran it on 6 jobs and it caught a duct sizing issue I totally missed on one of them. What surprised me is it didn't replace me, it just did the boring part while I did the walkthrough. Now I'm wondering if I should feed it my last 40 invoices and see what it spits out. Anyone else try using AI on the paperwork side of a trade instead of the actual work?
