My boss tested AI on our design team and it backfired badly

Last Tuesday my manager in Austin demoed an AI mockup generator to our whole team, saying it could cut our project time in half. It spewed out five generic logos that looked like every other startup's branding, and we spent the next hour arguing about how to fix its mistakes instead of actually designing. Has anyone else had a higher-up push AI tools without understanding the creative process, or am I just stuck in a stubborn shop?
