My boss told me my AI project summaries sounded like a robot wrote them
I was using a tool to auto-write weekly reports for six months, thinking it saved time. He pulled me aside and said, 'This reads like a machine, not a person who was here.' I changed my process to just use the AI for a rough draft, then I add three specific things I actually did that day. Has anyone else gotten told their AI work is too obvious and had to find a fix?

Yeah, I got that same feedback on a client email. What @nguyen.angela said about trust is real. I started adding one short personal line at the top, like "Hope your week is going okay," before the AI draft. It makes a huge difference.

Honestly who cares if it sounds a bit robotic? The point is the info got across right? As long as the work got done and the boss knows what happened, that's what matters. Seems like a weird thing to nitpick when the job itself is finished.

But what about when it's not just a boss? Like a client email or a team chat. If you sound like a robot, people might not trust you. They could think you're hiding something or just don't care. The info gets across, but the feeling doesn't. That can mess up future work.
