My company gave me an AI assistant in March and by June I was training my own replacement
My boss pulled me into a meeting in March and said we were getting an AI tool to help with our support tickets at our Denver office. At first it was great, it drafted replies and I just cleaned them up, cutting my 40 tickets a day down to about 25. By June I noticed I was mostly just fixing its mistakes and feeding it better answers all day. Then HR posted a job listing for a "prompt specialist" paying less than half what I make, and my manager asked me to write up how I do my job so the tool could learn it. I did it because I need the paycheck, but I keep wondering if I just wrote the manual to fire myself. Has anyone else been asked to document their own job for an AI system?
