My freelance editor told me my AI writing was too perfect - here's what I changed
Been using AI to draft copy for a local landscaping client in Phoenix and my editor said it read like a robot had a midlife crisis. She told me to toss in more sentence fragments and shorter paragraphs like how real people actually talk. Anyone else get feedback that their AI stuff sounds too clean and had to dumb it down?

Wait did she actually say "too perfect" or was that just her way of saying it reads like a script... What did she specifically point out felt fake?

Wait why would you want it to sound worse on purpose?

Wait have you ever heard those old recordings from the 60s where the audio is all crackly and quiet but somehow feels more real than any podcast today? That's kind of what she might mean. I remember my granddad had this vinyl of some folk singer where you could hear the floor creak and people cough and it was way more engaging than a studio cut. Same with movies - I'd rather watch something filmed on actual film with natural grain and light leaks than this digital polish that makes everything look like a soap commercial. Too perfect just makes my brain tune out after a while.
