My sister the nurse changed my whole take on AI documentation

I used to think AI scribes in hospitals were just a way to cut staff, honestly. Then my sister told me she spends 2 hours less each shift charting since they rolled out the voice-to-text tool at her hospital in Phoenix. She said she actually gets to sit with patients now instead of typing while they talk, and that hit different because she was the one who used to complain about admin burnout. I still worry about jobs disappearing, but if AI eats the paperwork before it eats the people, maybe that's not the worst trade. Has anyone else seen a role where the AI made the human part of the job better, not worse?
