Seeing my neighbor's life fall apart due to automation made me FURIOUS
Companies care more about profits than people, and it's WRONG. We need laws to protect workers from being tossed aside like trash.

Hey, didn't I hear about a podcast on this? They were saying a lot of retraining programs teach stuff that's already obsolete. Makes that catch-up problem even worse.

Ever notice how fast some jobs just vanish? I had a cousin who worked at a print shop for years. When everything went digital, the place shut down overnight. He tried to retrain for IT, but the courses were expensive and outdated by the time he finished. In my experience, that gap between old skills and new needs is where people get stuck. Your mileage may vary, but it feels like we're always playing catch-up with tech.

People focus on learning new skills, but forget that losing a job can shake your confidence deeply. When my uncle faced something similar, he said the worst part was feeling useless, not the lack of tech knowledge. That mental block makes it tougher to absorb new information, even in good courses. Maybe we need support for the mindset shift as much as the skill update. How do we help people believe they can learn again after years in one field?
