That AI scheduling tool I laughed at is now running my whole week

My buddy tried to get me on this AI calendar bot back in February, and I told him no way a computer could handle half the chaos of my roofing crew. Five guys, three job sites, random rainouts - I figured it would crash and burn. He bet me $50 it would stick, so I gave it a shot just to prove him wrong. Two months later, I've got it linked to weather alerts and client texts, and it's actually saved me from double booking myself on a Tuesday last month. It missed a holiday once, but that was my fault for not uploading the list. Anyone else find a tool you were dead set against that ended up working out?

Your roofing crew sounds like a handful, I can relate to that kind of chaos. A buddy talked me into trying a GPS tracker for my landscaping trailers, and I figured it would be a waste of money. It ended up saving me from losing a trailer and now I use it to reroute my guys around traffic jams.

Ha, yeah my wife made me get a smart lock for our front door. Told her it was stupid and just another thing to break. Now I can let the dog sitter in without driving home and my kids can't lose their keys anymore. It's fine I guess.

Yeah but like, is it really that serious though? @logan658 I mean yeah GPS trackers are cool and all but come on, do you really need to know where your trailer is at every second? My buddy had a smart lock and the thing bricked after a firmware update and he had to call a locksmith to get back in his own house. Plus now I gotta worry about someone hacking my front door instead of just picking a lock. I guess I see the appeal for the dog sitter thing, but my wife keeps bugging me about getting one and I keep telling her we've survived this long without it.
