TIL my $200 resume service did less than ChatGPT at 4am

Paid a company in Phoenix $200 last month to rewrite my resume and cover letter. They sent back generic wording that read like every other applicant, zero tailoring to my field. I was frustrated around 4am and ran the whole thing through a free AI tool, it caught typos they missed and gave better phrasing for my project bullet points. Has anyone else thrown money at a human service only to find the AI does it better, or did I just pick the wrong shop?
