Used to think AI tutors were overhyped... until I saw my 8th graders using one

I was super skeptical when our school bought a subscription to that AI tutoring platform for math help. Figured it was just another flashy tool that would distract kids more than teach them. But then last month I had a student who just could not grasp fractions no matter how I explained it. He pulled up the AI tutor on his Chromebook during study hall and it walked him through it step by step in like 15 minutes. The thing asked him questions to figure out exactly where he was stuck, which I honestly don't always have time to do for 30 kids at once. Now I'm not saying it replaces real teaching or anything, but I saw a 20% bump in quiz scores from that class in just two weeks. Has anyone else had a moment where AI actually proved itself in a classroom or training setting?

@ross.lily fractions are just division in disguise, break it down slow.
