Burned a batch of wings on game day because I trusted the old timing from my oven days
Last Sunday I had folks over to watch the Chiefs game and I figured I would do wings in the air fryer like always. Back when I used a regular oven, 40 minutes at 400 got them perfect and I never had to think about it. So I loaded the basket, set it for 40, and went back to the couch. About 25 minutes in my wife says it smells like something is burning. I open it up and the wings are basically charcoal on the outside, still a little pink near the bone. Turns out air fryers move heat so much faster that my old oven math was way off. I ended up tossing the whole batch, ordering pizza, and my buddy Mike would not stop giving me grief about it. Now I am paranoid and check everything at the halfway mark. Does anyone else still catch themselves using oven times out of habit, or did you all figure this out way faster than me?
