Finally got my air fryer wings right after 4 tries
I was at my buddy's place last weekend and he made wings in his air fryer that were way better than mine... crispy and juicy at the same time. He told me his secret was patting them dry and tossing them in baking powder before cooking. I tried it at home on Tuesday and it actually worked. Got that crunchy skin I've been chasing for weeks now. Anyone else have a trick for getting wings extra crispy?

amy_west I hear you on the cornstarch, I switched to that too for the same reason. One thing I figured out that nobody mentions though is to let the wings sit in the fridge uncovered for a full 8 hours, not just an hour. It dries the skin out way more and you get that papery crispiness without any powder taste.

yeah i saw that baking powder trick on some cooking show a while back and tried it once but i think i used too much cuz they came out kinda weird tasting. i started using a little cornstarch instead and it gives them that same crunch without any weird aftertaste. also letting them sit in the fridge uncovered for like an hour after you dry them makes a huge difference too honestly. my sister swears by the baking powder method though so maybe i just messed up the amounts or something.
