My sister swore you have to preheat an air fryer for everything
She said it was non-negotiable for crispy fries, so I did it for months. I finally skipped it last week for some frozen chicken nuggets and they came out exactly the same, saving me like 5 minutes. Anyone else think the preheat rule is overrated for some stuff?

It reminds me of the "you must rinse rice" rule. I followed it for years until I saw a test where the results were identical. A lot of kitchen wisdom is like that, passed down without anyone checking if it still applies to new tools.
